Mourinho questions referee Pawson's penalty call

Craig Pawson's decision not to award Manchester United a penalty was pivotal in a disappointing draw with Southampton, said Jose Mourinho.
Jose Mourinho questioned referee Craig Pawson's decision making after Manchester United were denied what he felt was a clear penalty in the goalless draw with Southampton.
The United boss argued his side should have been awarded a spot-kick when Maya Yoshida appeared to handle inside the penalty area, as Jesse Lingard attempted to break the deadlock at Old Trafford.
As the England international juggled the ball 18 yards from goal, Yoshida's right arm connected with the ball, but referee Pawson deemed the incident not worthy of punishment.
Mourinho felt that call spoiled the official's performance - as United recorded a third successive Premier League draw and slipped to third after Chelsea's 5-0 thrashing of Stoke City.
"I think it is a disappointing afternoon for Craig because he's a fantastic referee, one of the most promising in Europe," the Portuguese told BT Sport. "It was one of the key points [of the game].
"We missed easy chances but I'm really unhappy with the penalty; not with Pawson's performance.
"I think Craig had a good performance, it was a big decision to make from him."
United's problems were added to as Romelu Lukaku was taken off on a stretcher following a nasty clash of heads after just eight minutes, while Mourinho confirmed afterwards that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will also miss the next month with his knee problem.

Struggling for excuses again, Jose. This team just isn't good enough. Bereft of ideas on how to score; poor crosses, poor final pass, too slow in the build-up. No leaders, no outstanding player on show tonight for United apart from de Gea again, keeping them in the game. Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Mata poor - Mkhitaryan unbelievably so - Lingard flatters to deceive, as do Rashford and Martial at times. As a United follower it hurts me to say this but it's the truth. Not the ref's fault. Never going to challenge for the PL playing like this, and now dropping down the table. LvG got the sack for his playing style - will the same happen with Mourinho, I wonder?

Oh get over yourself Mourinho.maybe it was, maybe it wasn't,but the independent ex ref in the bt studio didn't.
More importantly for you neither did the match referee. With the money you e spent you should be beating these teams comfortably instead of moaning what could have been.

t is about time Mourinho left our country he has never been any good as a football manager only go's to clubs that spend millions of pounds on plays, like Chelsea ect. Can not build a time from the clubs young plays like Arsenal or Spurs. Lets see what he could do with a team like Wimbledon or Luton.
