Oyo Community Gets FG’s Nod To Establish Oyomesi 101.5 FM

The hope of the people of Oyo town to have their own‎ radio station brightened yesterday with the permission to the community by the Federal Government to set up a community radio.
Revealing this yesterday was the revered Arch‎-Bishop Ayo Ladigbolu.
Ladigbolu, who is the chairman of the Metropolitan Development Association, the apex group of all associations in the ancient town, explained the committees have been set up to look for suitable location for the project.
He spoke at Atiba Town Hall, Oyo, on Thursday, where the association met all groups in the town and demanded governorship slot of the state come 2019‎.
This is coming after many years of abandonment of the proposed ‎Atiba FM by the state government.
Insideoyo.com had few months ago reported how the people of the town ‎had berated Oyo State Government for abandoning the proposed Atiba FM.
Atiba FM, which began before the 2015 election, has not reached lintel level and seems to have been abandoned by the government. Though, government officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said government had bought equipment for the project, the close to 4 years of endless wait has ‎made the people to lose hope.
Ladigbolu, whose revelation generated wild applause‎, said “I am not predicting. It is real. Listen to me again; we have secured permission to establish Oyomesi Communications Limited to run Oyomesi 101.5 FM. In fact, it was the Federal Government who gave us the frequency. The committee to go to China to procure equipment would be inaugurated soon.”
He added that the time has come for the people of the town to take issues of development with ‎all seriousness, adding that the community is happy with the approval granted Atiba University to operate fully.
