President Tinubu declines appointment

President Tinubu declines appointment to see Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo, Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Gandunje over the PDP Election petition before the tribunal.

According to a dependable source in the Villa, the trio had booked an appointment to see the President after the governors forum meeting on Thursday. 

However, on getting to the villa, they were informed by the Chief of Staff that the President was not willing to discuss the Edo Election Petition that is before the courts. He told them that the President was under serious pressures from within and outside the country to allow the courts disperse justice without his interference.

Oshiomhole was said to have pleaded with the Chief of Staff to intimate the president on the need for him to intervene because the case was a bad one for the APC. He warned that should the PDP takeover Edo State, it will affect the President’s 2027 comeback bid negatively. The Chief of Staff promised to discuss the issue with the President the source disclosed.
