A gubernatorial aspirant in the All Progressives Congress, APC,
Professor Adeolu Akande has congratulated Engr Seyi Makibde, a
chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on his 50th birthday.
Akande, in the felicitation message to the PDP gubernatorial aspirant wishes Makinde many more years of service to the people of Oyo State and mankind in general.
Prof Akande said Makinde has demonstrated the need for professionals to participate in politics so that Nigeria could harness her best human resources for the task of governance.
He noted: “Our political scene has suffered perception crisis because of the reluctance of Nigerian professionals and technocrats to take part in partisan politics because it has been wrongly classified as a “dirty game”.
“However, the visibility of professionals and technocrats like Engr Seyi Makinde is helping to change this. We all have a duty to participate in politics because it is the surest way of impacting on the lives of oar people on a large scale.
“I congratulate Engr Makinde on this milestone of his golden jubilee. I wish him long life, good health and more strength in the service of our people”, Akande concluded
