Europa League - State of play in Group A

Manchester United are within touching distance of the Round of 32 in the Europa League and, if all goes to plan on Thursday evening in Odessa, the Reds could end up as Group A winners.

In order to qualify, Jose Mourinho's men simply need to pick up at least a point against bottom-of-the-table Zorya Luhansk at Chornomorets Stadium. The Reds' record against Ukrainian teams bodes well given we're unbeaten in seven matches. United would also go through with a defeat if Feyenoord fail to win at home to leaders Fenerbahce, while Zorya will definitely finish fourth in the group. Incidentally, both matches in the group will kick-off simultaneously at 18:00 GMT.

The best possible scenario for the Reds is to finish top of Group A and, to do that, we must better Fenerbahce's result on the night. If United achieve this feat, it will mean Mourinho's side are seeded in Monday's Round of 32 draw, which will see the eight third-placed teams from the Champions League entering the competition. Teams who are seeded will play the second leg of the last 32 match at home and it's worth noting that those sides from the same group or the same country cannot be drawn against each other.

Before any thoughts can turn to the draw though, the Reds must first collect at least the point needed to ensure a spot in the knock-out stages. A repeat of the 1-0 victory over Zorya in the reverse fixture at the end of September, at Old Trafford, would do nicely.
