The former chieftain of Accord Party in Oyo State, Engr. Aderemi Olaniyan, has led thousands of his supporters to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State. Olaniyan, a major financier of Accord Party, hailed from Oke-Ogun area of the state. He led his supporters into the ruling party with fanfare in his Igboho, Oorelope Local Government Area, hometown, at the weekend.
Olaniyan was received into the APC by the Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo and the Deputy State Chairman of the party, Alh. Alimi Isiaka. Welcoming him to APC, Alake-Adeyemo hailed Olaniyan’s political sagacity and strength, stressing that he has never been defeated in his ward and by extension, the local government in any election.
Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area also join the APC at the declaration ceremony which held at the Central Motor Park in Igboho. His followers in the five zones of the state joined him at the ceremony. Addressing the crowd, Olaniyan said he came to the APC with his family members, supporters, friends and associates across the state.
The former Accord Party chieftain promised that his new party would start winning elections in Oorelope Local Government. He disclosed that more members would soon dump Accord for APC to join existing party members in offering purposeful leadership to the people of Oyo State
