Diogo Dalot'spress-conference ahead of Lyon (A) tomorrow

"I would say I started to become more obsessed with being available, that's the first step to being able to play. Due to some problems in the first few seasons here in United, I had this switch of mind a bit, in terms of being available physically."
"I always try to help my teammates, but what I say all the time is that what works for me doesn't always work for my teammates, because everyone is an individual."
"At this stage we have to be ready for this game, and tomorrow if we're sharp in our minds, we can make a very good game."
On the supposed lack of intensity in Sunday's Manchester Derby:
"I can tell you straight away, it was a very intense game. I ran a lot, my teammates ran a lot, we fought really hard to be competitive. I think everybody in the stadium felt that we wanted to win the game, and we were competitive."

On the Derby:
"Everyone's entitled to their opinion, you might like the kind of game it was, you might prefer the game to be more open, but if you ask City and United players, I'm sure everyone had the right approach and intensity to win the game, but both sides respected each other enough to know that one mistake could change the game."

On the performance against City:
"We were very compact as a team, it's something we've been improving on a lot. We created enough to win the game."

"I understand that if you watch Man United vs Man City, you want a result with more goals, everybody wants more goals. But me, inside the pitch, I felt that the game was very intense. We did everything to win the game, but we got a draw. That's part of football."

Ruben Amorim's press-conference ahead of Lyon (A) tomorrow

On if Kobbie Mainoo is fit to start tomorrow:
"In this moment we have to be careful with Kobbie. He had some games out so we have to be careful with his fitness, but we are really happy."

"Matta [de Ligt] has a problem in his foot. We are trying to assess, we still don't have data on when he can return."

"With Kobbie, we see a lot of talent, and the way I see it, I see some things he needs to improve - the pace during the game. In the build-up he needs to improve, but near the box, he's really good. I see Mainoo not as a full player in the moment, because he's 19."

On Kobbie Mainoo playing in the midfield two:
"He can play there. In England sometimes they play with three defenders, it was more or less the same position. We need to find him like Casemiro - he's playing better because we're understanding his game."

On Matic and Onana:
"Tomorrow will not matter [in relation to that]. If you see the full quote from Andre, he says Lyon are a very good team. Sometimes players or coaches don't listen to the full quote, and it's a misunderstanding. I know Matic is also a great guy."

On Lyon's attack:
"If you look at just that department, it's quite simple. Look at Lyon, they're stronger, faster and bigger than Sociedad. They play different football, since Paulo Fonseca came in, they are winning more games, scoring more goals. A strong team physically, but they have a style that's based on possession."

"Sometimes you make a lot of runs with Rasmus and Josh [Zirkzee], but against this team [Lyon] it'll be harder."

On Nemanja Matic calling him his most optimistic ever teammate:
"That is clear, I'm always saying we're going to win the Premier League, so you can see I'm an optimist! It's something you're born with, you can't fake it for a long time."

On how Onana will react to Nemanja Matic's possible overreaction:
"It's really hard to deal with that, that is for sure. If you look at all the quotes, you cannot see disrespect. It's respect but trying to give confidence to his own team."

On winning the Europa League:
"It's really important. The first one [priority] is to win a title, a European title. It's massive for us and our confidence. To play Champions League in our club is very different - our environment, our budget for the summer, everything is connected."

On the pressure that comes with wanting to win the Europa League:
"We know that pressure, but again it's not the biggest problem in Man United. We have other ways to get this in the right way without Champions League next season."

On Joshua Zirkzee:
"He's improving in all aspects. He needs to be more selfish, he's not the typical striker, but he has to be more selfish. He's more aggressive now, works better, defends better, links quite well. He played as a striker sometimes, like against Arsenal, and played very well."

"Josh is improving and showing good things."

On why United are doing well in the Europa League, but not the Premier League:
"I think it's nothing tactical, I believe it's the pace and physicality of the game. We have the best league in the world, sometimes the games where you don't see a lot of intensity, I guarantee you it has more intensity than some games in the Europa, and I have the data."

On the lesser intensity in Europa League games:
"If you have one more second with the ball, it changes the game."

⚽️⚽️ Ruben Amorim's press conference ahead the match against Manchester City

On Mainoo potentially being back for Sunday? "Of course, he cannot play a full game, he’s a long time without training."

On Sunday's game? "We want to win this game, we want to improve in the league table and especially we want to win games. We are going to have full focus on this game."

On Alejandro Garnacho? "I think he is doing the right things. Like any player in our team, he has to choose better in the last third. Bruno [Fernandes] is the only one scoring goals easily."

"Garnacho needs to improve the way he runs, the way he defends, scores and assists. He is improving."

On Kevin de Bruyne leaving Man City in the summer? "He was like one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. The time passes to everyone so that is a natural thing. He improved the league. He was on the wrong side of Manchester! I wish him good luck."

On Man City's struggles? "I am more focused on our problems; I think we have bigger problems than Manchester City."

On City's bad season? "They had problems in that run. They have improved. They have maybe the best coach in the world. They have top players. It will be a difficult match. I am so focused on improving my team, I am not focused on City's improvements."

On if the win against City is the highlight of his time at United? "I don't see one win as a special moment. Special moments are to win titles."

On Mason Mount's fitness? "Yes, he is fit enough to start, but we must manage him. Mason has trained a lot of times, getting the load in his body. Sometimes the mind is more important than the body. He is fit to play and we will see on Sunday."

On if a Premier League title win in 2028 is possible? "Of course, I understand and I am not naive. Sometimes, it is for me. I cannot manage that [the expectation]. I know that we are not going to be the biggest contender in the next year or two years."

"We are doing a lot of things. Sometimes we have changed players because they have had to adjust to our new standards. We have to change a lot of things, we have changed a lot of staff, we have changed things inside the club."

"I cannot say we need a lot of years - I cannot manage that. I am not saying we are going to win the title in the next year - I am not crazy. Next year, we are suffering a lot to be so much better."

On catching up to Man City? "Not just Manchester City but other teams, they are already in a place where we need a lot to catch them. I just want to focus on our strengths and use our club to bring one or two big players [in]."

"We are doing all the stuff to be so much better next season. If it is going to take four years [win the Premier League], I don't know. Next season we need to be so much better."

On why teams like Newcastle and Aston Villa are on the up, but United have gotten worse? "The focus must be on how to improve our team in every aspect. Of course, the Premier League is so different. People say Sir Alex Ferguson took two or three times to win something... it is completely different nowadays."

"The pressure is different. No matter the context, we need to be there [at the top]. We will have to say a lot of adversity and big teams."
