Superbook converts your Android smartphone into a laptop

The idea to turn your smartphone into a desktop is nothing new. Andromium has been getting into the subject since year 2014 when it launched a project on Kickstarter. We've also seen Andromium OS and now we have a glimpse of something that's believed to be another revolutionary technology.

Your smartphone and computer can be very well integrated. Admit it or not, there may come a time when your phone will also be your main computing workhorse. The idea is to make the Android mobile device work like a dekstop so you can do numerous tasks and be productive right on your phone. Not that it's impossible but a full functioning desktop computer is still needed. No amount of apps can replace your laptop or PC but someday, you will be able to freely use the smartphone as if it's the only computer that matters.

Some people have already ditched their laptops for smartphones but it will still depend on one's job or industry. To reach that goal, Andromium has developed a hardware the runs Andromium. It's the startup's very own flagship product that is aimed to rival Chromebook. The latter now supports Google Play Store which means most Android apps can run.

This Superbook is basically just another laptop complete with a body, trackpad, and keyboard. What's missing is the "brain" but your Android smartphone will fill that job. The "laptop" part costs only $99 but the computer experience will be provided by your smartphone. This project has yet to launch on Kickstarter this coming July 21.

With Superbook, you don't have to bring more gadgets with you. Laptops or tablets can be a bit heavy but this one isn't. Your main computer is your smartphone and connecting it with the Superbook will have you finishing that report or article in no time.

The Superbook concept promises true desktop productivity. It's also capable of multi-windows. Like any desktop computer or laptop, you can use keyboard shortcuts, see a taskbard, and view a notification center. It brings the Android platform into another level because it can soon work as a super computer.

All you need is the Andromium App to use the Superbook with your smartphone. You also have full Google Play Store access and a full-featured file manager. You can enjoy a desktop-style web browser and you don't have to worry about compatibility with other Android devices. You can even use the 'right-click' function to make things easier.

Specs and features of the Superbook include the following: 11.6-inch LCD HD display, multi-touch trackpad, USB Type-C and Micro-A USB, Android Navigation Keys on the keyboard, and eight hours of battery life.
