Man of the Match: Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial claimed Manchester United's Man of the Match award on Twitter after he came off the bench to score the vital winner in the tense 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman claimed 53 per cent of the votes to edge out the impressive Ashley Young (40 per cent) while Phil Jones finished in third place with 7 per cent of the votes after he was also nominated for the supporters' poll by MUTV pundits
Martial replaced Marcus Rashford on 70 minutes and grabbed the winner 11 minutes later by latching on to a Romelu Lukaku flick from David De Gea's long kick to nip in behind the Spurs defence and slot past Hugo Lloris.
It’s not the first time the 21-year-old has made an impact from the bench this season, after previous goals as a substitute against West Ham United, Swansea City and Everton in recent weeks.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, the match winner revealed: "The manager told me to find the space and I know Lukaku is good with his head so I found the space and I scored, so I am happy.
"It's an important result for us because we lost the last [league] game. It was important for us to win and I’m happy to score and I hope we win again at home to Benfica."
When asked whether he is happy to make an impact from the substitutes' bench, Martial continued: “I want to play, I don’t want to be on the bench, but Rashford played good too so the manager tried to give us all a chance to score and give assists.”
United boss Jose Mourinho was full of praise for Martial, telling both Sky Sports and MUTV how he advised his French forward to approach the game when he went on.
“He plays in the same position as Marcus [Rashford], but is more comfortable than Marcus dropping in between the lines to help drive the ball and not just attack space," said the manager.
"I told him to do that and to play off Lukaku against three very good central defenders that had a hard match for 60 or 70 minutes against Lukaku and Rashford.
“[It was] maybe a lucky shot, but the moment, his desire is good and the goal gives us two more points than 0-0. Sometimes he starts the match and his contribution is good, but not scoring so many times as he does coming from the bench. But he’s playing well – the same as Rashford, the same as Lukaku.”
